not my favorite friday

Today's been interesting day so far, and it's only 8am. Riggs woke up three times in the night crying like somebody was pinching him [he usually sleeps the whole night through, maybe waking up once every now and then]. Then he woke up at 6:40am for good [he usually sleeps till 7:30 and reads quietly in bed until 8 or even 8:30 if I'm really lucky]. And he's been as ornery as all get out ever since.

Oh well, such is life with a toddler I suppose. I'm squeezing in a little blog time while he eats breakfast to post my five friday favorites, and joining two link parties while I'm at it.

This shot by Hanna of Relic Photographic is soooo gorgeous. It's taken from the top of the Butte overlooking
Pioneer Peak, which is basically in my backyard. Hanna lives here in the valley and does amazing work.

This adorable burlap and lace table runner is perfect for decorating your home for the fall and winter
holidays. And it's made by my friend Lena from Root & Blossom; definitely go check out her Etsy shop!

This easy DIY garland from Amanda is so adorable. And also, I think it's finally time for
me to put up a chalkboard somewhere in our house. So cute!

"We bury our swollen prayers in Him who’s raised from the tomb.
We lay our hope, full and tender, into the depths of Him and wait in hope for
God to resurrect something good. Good always necessitates long waiting."
I got a little teary reading this post this morning from A Holy Experience
One of my favorite blogs to catch up on when I need extra encouragement.

This is sooooo true for me! I'm not thirty yet, in fact I'm turning 27 on
the 23rd of this month. But most days I still feel like I'm 20 years old,
at least until I see actual 20 year olds, and then I instantly feel a lot older...ha.

  1. I really like A Holy Experience too! I don't read her stuff every day, but when I'm looking for a little encouragement I always scan through her posts.

    1. I'm the same. I sort of forget about it for a few weeks here and there, and then seem to click on over just when I need it the most.

    1. Thanks Nancy. I feel bad even complaining because he's always been such a great sleeper. But man I'm tired! Definitely should have gone to bed a bit earlier ;)

  5. Love this post! I like how you do Friday faves! I need some focus to mine! haha Im all over the place so I usually never do it, so I may follow your example and do something like this! Bummer Riggs had such a rough night, Hazel's was actually the same on Friday night, I totally skipped church today to catch up on sleep.... Hope all is back to normal in your house!

    1. Hope you were able to catch up on sleep Hannah! We're slowly getting a little better and catching up, but I'm taking Riggs to the chiro tomorrow to see if maybe he's out of alignment and that's part of the waking frequently at night problem. Life with kiddo's is never boring! haha

  6. Riggs! Do you think he is sick or maybe teething? Gabriel caught a cold and gave it to me so it's similar in our house right now too.

Thanks for sharing my Etsy! You're so sweet! I totally skipped out on Friday Favorites this week because of the bug and sleepless nights! You rock!

    1. Oh man sounds like lots of sleepless nights this past weekend! Poor Gabriel and poor you! I hope you're both feeling better and getting some better quality sleep. I'm not sure what's going on with Riggs, seems like his usual teething behavior but I never know! It would have to be his 2 year molars because that's all he has left! haha.

I love that table runner so much so I was happy to share it!! :)

  7. Teething maybe? Ugh, sounds rough whatever it was, how's he doing now? I loooove Amanda's DIY garland, so cute! And YES to that last photo, I actually posted that on my fb not too long ago because it's so true! I feel so young and immature until I'm around people in their early 20's and then I realize I'm not THAT immature lol.
