booties and a pickle

{I am linked up with Nicole from Frontier Dreams for this post}

I made these booties last week for Riggs, and I love how they turned out!  I thought they were a bit big at first, but they actually fit him quite well.  I really love the pattern because it was very easy and quick and they stay on his feet so well (which is nearly a miracle as he has very small feet, especially in comparison to his chubby legs).

I wanted to write more today about crafting and life in general, but I am too distracted by what is happening outside my house right now.  Steve took the dog out and found a very drunk, very, very cold twenty something year old woman in our yard who had fallen down.  She tried to follow him in the house and will not listen, and even peed in our yard.  He offered to call someone to come get her and wants to help but there is only so much we can do.  We did give her some warm gloves and an old blanket.  I called community service patrol and the APD since CSP is backed up right now and she literally will not leave us alone.

I hope they come soon!  Poor Steve is stuck out there keeping her from coming and knocking incessantly on our door and poor she is probably pretty scared and very cold.  Not a fun situation at all...

  3. Love the booties! I just posted some girly ones-lol-great minds think alike :)and Rigg's baby legs are so cute I love polka dots on kids! Alaskan craziness, we lived in Spenard for years and I totally understand! Moving from there to our small town where we see more cows and horses than cop cars was a huge shock, for a little while it felt almost boring but now we are used to it. Hope it all works out for her and you guys :)

    1. Oh man. We live downtown in Bootleggers Cove by Westchester Lagoon. You would think with all the wealthy people and expensive homes there wouldn't be problems like this, but a lot of people wander up from the Coastal Trail, both homeless people and drunk partiers (as was the case last night I think). It will be very nice to be in the quieter community our new home is in.

    1. Thank you for visiting! Luckily, my husband took care of things and all is well (at least for us, hopefully the woman finds some help!).
