'only' 19 weeks to go :)

How Far Along: 21 weeks

Size of Baby: Pomegranate (10.5 inches, 12.7 oz). Interesting fact: her little tiny taste buds are working now!

Gender: Sweet baby girl! See some of the things I've been pinning for her, here.

Weight Gain: Are you ready for it? 10 pounds! At my midwife appointment she told me that puts me on track to gain 30 pounds total which would be ideal for me (according to her). Ugh I am not looking forward to gaining 20 more pounds! This week I've really started to feel like a pregnant lady, my belly's starting to have that heavy feeling and I'm breathing heavily after doing the easiest things. I can't wait to see how I'll feel 20 more pounds from now (not).

Maternity Clothes: Yes and no. Still mixing in a lot of my 'normal' clothes especially my yoga pants/leggings, longer tanks, and hoodies/cardis. I'd like to buy a pair or two of maternity jeans and some long sleeve/short sleeve tees (I have one). I shared some of my favorites picks from Gap a few days ago, and I plan on heading into town to check out what they have in stores soon too.

Nursery: Check out my idea board on Pinterest here. I have finally made a list of things I'd like to do in Riggs' room to start making things ready for baby sister. I'll be sharing the details in a separate post soon! We're waiting another month or two to purchase some of the bigger items we need, like the car seat and crib/crib mattress (or whatever we end up using in our room for baby girl). I don't want to have those big things sitting around in the way until we're nearly ready to use them. I've also been watching closely for a sale on both the infant carseat and convertible carseat we want or a triple rewards period at Nordstroms (where I plan on getting it for the reward points).

I'm also trying to decide what to do for a swing for baby girl. With Riggs we had a little swing but he didn't love it and was just as happy to sleep on the couch or watch things from his boppy on the couch. Now that we have Tutka (who gets up on the couch) I'd like to get a nice, high-off-the-ground swing/seat as a safe place to put baby down in the living room. I really like the 'my little lamb' swing (how it looks - I don't like how wide the feet are) but I've heard so many good/amazing things about the 4moms mamaroo seat and I'm wondering if its worth the extra money. Any thoughts or experiences?

Movement: Our baby girl is quite the athlete so far! She moves and especially kicks so much more than Riggs did. He was pretty laid back when he was on the inside (still is!) and wasn't very 'kicky'. This time around I'm getting kicks and jabs continuously throughout the day. I've gotten some direct kicks to the bladder that send me running to the bathroom on a regular basis (tmi? nothing's tmi when it comes to pregnancy and the blogging world, haha).

Symptoms: Feeling pregnant. Tired, big belly, out of breath. Tired. I have pretty normal energy during the day and so far am keeping up with my usual routine, but I do find myself sitting more often and taking little breaks. After Riggs goes to bed at 7/7:15, I feel like I need to go crawl in bed too! I'm so tired in the evenings, but I try to keep my eyes open to squeeze in as much husband/personal time that I can.

Sleep: I'm thankful that I've been sleeping relatively well. This week has been a little rough since both Steve and Riggs are sick. Riggs has been sleeping good but Steve has been up multiple times each night making all sorts of man-cold noises (blowing his nose louder than I ever thought possible, groaning, moaning, and coughing). I am such a light sleeper since having Riggs so any little noise wakes me up and  most of the time I am sooo grouchy when I get woken up by Steve's sick-noises in the middle of the night! Poor husband gets no sympathy from this pregnant lady haha.

Best Moment This Week: Feeling lots of kicks from the outside of my belly when I was trying to go back to sleep at 3am. Such special bonding moments during pregnancy - truly magical!

Looking Forward To: Finding some cute, comfy maternity jeans at some point soon and more sunny days!

  1. You look so great. 30 pounds would be a GREAT weight gain. I've always gained way more that that, when I'm pregnant!

  2. You look great!! I gained 30 with my daughter which was the most out of my three pregnancies!! But oh well... Ha! So my kids hated the baby swings, every one of them. But they loved the mamaroo!! They would be so content and happy in there.

  3. Such a cute belly! I gained about thirty pounds with each of my boys. It sounds like so much but it's so easily done and it's right in the middle of 'healthy'. You look fabulous!

  4. Hey, cute mama! I'm so excited for you. Do you have a bouncer? We loved our bouncer for both our boys--it can be placed anywhere near where I am in the house without taking up too much room. :)

  5. We had the little lambs swing with our first and he loved it. It looked and felt so comfy in there! It was the only place we could get him to fall asleep for the first few months.
    You are looking great!
