How Far Along? 39 weeks (7 days until my due date - when I was pregnant with Riggs I still had 19 days to go - he was twelve days late!)
Size of Baby: mini-watermelon (about 20 inches and a bit over 7 pounds)
Gender: Girl!
Weight Gain: Still up about 30 pounds. Have an appointment Tuesday, so I'll know exactly then.
Maternity Clothes: Yes. Mostly just wearing loose comfy clothes when I'm at home. I can't wait to wear normal clothes again!
Nursery: All of her clothes and blankets and swaddle me's are washed and put away in our room (her dresser is in our room for now). Her little tiny dresses are hanging in our closet. Bows and tights and shoes and socks are just waiting for her. But I haven't gotten the rock n play out of the box yet. I think I will this week so I can wash the cover before she's born. Then I'll store it folded up next to my bed until she's ready to use it.
Her crib is set up with more blankets and the Boppy pillow in Riggs' room. I want it ready to go so I can put her in it for naps like I did with Riggs from day one. Also I finished her quilt top this week and picked out the backing fabric, so now all I have to do is drop it off to the quilter (so much prettier and easier for me!) and then hand sew the binding on once she's done quilting it.
We moved her carseat and our (packed) bags to my truck so that they're ready to go in case I go into labor while out and about. I don't want someone to have to drive all the way back to our house for that stuff, especially if I'm in Anchorage when I need to go straight to the birth center. I'm under strict orders to head straight in as soon as there's any sign of labor. Since my labor was so quick with Riggs they expect it to be fast this time and they don't want me giving birth alongside the highway after waiting to long to head to the birth center.
Movement: She is still very active despite being quite limited in space. Just this evening I was driving home from a friends wedding and I nearly had to pull over because it felt like she was punching me in the cervix. Very uncomfortable and she kept doing that along with full body movements for nearly the whole drive. She's not a fan of me sitting in the car, not at all!
Just over the last couple of days my sleep is starting to suffer from frequent wake ups (at least 3-4 each night) and I've ben having problems going back to sleep in the mornings when I wake up to pee when Steve is leaving for work around 6am. I actually nap when Riggs naps 2-3 times a week now which is completely crazy for me. I never usually sleep during the day, I just have too hard of a time falling asleep. Lately if I lay down to look at my phone I just fall right asleep, even if I don't feel tired.
Cravings: Just like last week, I want to actually feel hungry and enjoy a normal portion without feeling like I'm going to throw up. Not much room for food anymore I guess!
Best Moment This Week: Father's Day on Sunday was seriously the best day ever and every moment was just perfect. We had so much fun together, just Steve, Riggs and me and knowing it was probably one of the last weekend days we'll spend as a family of three made it even more special.
Looking Forward to: My appointment on Tuesday at the new birth center! Can't wait to check it out and see how beautiful it is. They're calling it 'the nest' and I just love that.
