Summit Lake Hike

this could be titled, why I love living in Alaska.

it is just so beautiful here, and it's so easy to get out and enjoy the beauty.

less than half an hours drive from my door step and about an hours worth of hiking straight up, and you're on top of the world. alone. with the breeze caressing your cheeks. it truly soothes the soul.

and even better than experiencing it myself is watching my child experience it. watching him work hard to 'hike' up the rocky trail. watching him squint against the bright light as he looks out over the valleys below. watching his chubby fingers feel the moss on the rocks and the small little flowers growing here and there.
