He has enjoyed the time off - its the first he's had since April. He has been working on getting his "new" truck fixed up - doing maintenance that needed to be done and even finding new seats for the truck that are much more safe (neck rests and modern seatbelts) for a great deal. This is the reason he bought this truck - bc it has good "bones", can tow what he needs it to and is easy to work on, which he enjoys doing.
Despite the cold, we didn't want daddy to be lonely, so we bundled up to go out and keep him company for a few minutes. Riggs was all warm and cozy in his snowsuit, in the Ergo, under a blanket to keep him from breathing the frigid air. But I uncovered him for a quick picture :)
It was nice to get outside, I enjoyed the fresh air and Riggs quickly fell asleep. We went in after about five or ten minutes and I spent some time on the computer while Riggs slept in his still much too big snowsuit.
I made Taco Ring for dinner, which was so good, as usual and then we all settled down to watch the news and the second night of American Idol, which was a little boring.
I am loving being a mother to my beautiful baby. For me, motherhood is really a dream come true. For as long as I can remember, I have looked forward to being a mommy. It is so surreal that I am now, I feel so completely blessed. Of course I am a little tired, but it is so worth it that I hardly notice. Steve and I both feel like Riggs has just slipped so easily into our routine and fits so perfectly into our lives. We can't imagine life without him and his silly little faces.
We had some newborn pictures taken of him on Wednesday and I cannot wait to see them! The ladies at PS Photography did an amazing job and we loved the entire experience. I'll be sure to share them here ASAP...
I've been working away at my birth story, but I really want it to convey my exact thoughts, feelings and experiences, so it's taking a little while. So for now, happy Friday, hope everyone has a great weekend!
