In case you were waiting with bated breath (ha), last night went shockingly well. As in only going in his room two times well. I'm sort of in shock, and I don't think it will all sink in until a few weeks pass of sleeping in eight hour stretches (which he's never. ever. ever. ever. done). As soon as I put him to bed, I started feeling all weird and jittery and sort of nervous waiting to see what would happen. I even kept notes on my iPhone of exact times that "things happened" just like I did when he was a newborn. I was being sort of crazy and OCD but I couldn't help it.
I slept from about midnight to 5:15am when Steve woke up. I was so disoriented from sleeping 5 hours straight for the first time in months, and then I was worried and had to creep into Riggy's room and check on him. He was sleeping soundly, on his stomach with his little butt up in the air. So cute! I wish I would have gotten a picture. Even with the dogs being crazy and Steve getting ready for work he didn't wake up. I watched the Today show by myself sort of in awe of the whole situation. I'm a little scared that since it went so well last night it's going to be a nightmare tonight or something. I guess we'll have to wait and see! One thing I didn't foresee was crazy engorgement, I'm talking rock hard and painful. I definitely wasn't going to wake Riggs up just to relieve my own discomfort, so I pumped a little and whipped these long forgotten gems:
Awesome, eh? Riggs fell today on his face and nearly bit through his bottom lip, poor guy. Being mobile is so dangerous for babies and scary for mommies! Here's the best picture I could get:
It didn't seem to phase him too much after I iced it for a few minutes. He tries so hard to pull himself up onto things and is getting so good about going from crawling, to sitting, to on his knees, back to crawling, it's crazy. He looks so grown up now, wah. Time for a new baby I guess ;). We'll have to see what Steve things about that haha. Anyway, happy Friday everyone!
