Mothers Day, Moving, and Milestones

I had a wonderful Mothers Day, although it was a little hectic. We finished unloading the Uhaul in the morning, then drove to Anchorage to find carpet for the bedrooms and for Mothers Day lunch with the family. My mom got me beautiful flower and they are so nice to have in our new home.

Picking out carpet was actually a huge hassle but we found something we actually liked that was also on sale, which is always a bonus. Steve got the carpet in the master bedroom ripped out and the subfloor painted (there were stains all over the old carpet from the 2 cats and 2 dogs the previous owners had yuck) and will be putting the new carpet Saturday. In the mean time, all of our boxes and furniture are in the living room. So it's pretty crazy. The kitchen is really the only room that has a little order and organization. I included a picture below to demonstrate the craziness (sorry for the bad formatting, we won't have Internet for another week so I have to use the iPhone app).

In other news, I have a four month old baby! Riggs is just growing and learning like crazy. He has found his feet and loves to lay on his back and grab them. Too cute! We went to his four month appointment on Monday and I was a little surprised by the results. He hadn't gained as much weight as I thought, only about a pound and a half in the last two months. He has grown longer though, by about an inch and a half. Here are his stats since birth:

Birth: 9 lbs 4 oz 21.5 inches 36.5 cm head

1 month: 11 lbs 23 inches

2 months: 15 lbs 10 oz 25.5 inches 41.5 cm head

4 months: 17 lbs 3 oz 27 inches 43.4 cm head

He's in the 99th percentile for length and the 90th for weight. Big boy! His feet and hands have grown so much too, I just can't get over how big he is getting. He wears size 6-12 months now and I had to change out his socks from 0-6 month to 6-12 months! It is so hard to watch them grow up so fast! Luckily it's fun too :)
