Rainy November Days

November was ushered in with some of the rainiest weather I remember this year and we were outside trying to enjoy it as much as possible. Even with great rain gear, the kids were soaking through two gear changes a day, sitting in puddles probably contributed to that problem but oh what fun they were having!

It was nice to have Steve home for some of it to make their rainy day play even more fun. Races through puddles and standing under the big drips coming off the roof were their favorites, and even Tutka got in on the fun.

We were thankful to be able to go into our little rental and spread our gear out to dry, rather than having to go to the laundromat to dry everything out like we had on really wet days in the airstream. Steve and I wished we could have figured out some way to make housing all-weather outdoor gear for four people work better in the Airstream, because aside from that issue it really was quite comfortable space-wise for us to live in that small space. We were using the shower in our trailer for pantry space (with shelves and everything) so I think if we could have found another spot for those items we could have utilized that space with tension rods and hooks to dry out gear in that waterproof, contained space.

Anyway it was so fun to see the kids out on epic puddle jumping adventures during the rainy spell we had, and it reminded me of when I was a girl puddle jumping in our neighborhood with my little sister, and taking long rainy walks with my high school best friend talking about our teenage angst whilst getting soaked - rain has always been magical to me.
